Gstaad skilfully combines tradition, modernity and style. The car-free centre of the village is the perfect place to eat, shop and indulge.

The first thing you will notice when you arrive in Gstaad are the lush meadows, the gentle hills and the snow-capped mountain peaks. Located at 1050 m above sea level, the village of Gstaad is the magnet of the region and is proud of its diverse traditions. This holiday destination is home to 200 working farms, 80 alps still in operation and approximately 7000 cows. A visit to one of the farms is always worthwhile. Visitors can immerse themselves in the traditions of Gstaad.

Culinary highlights

The car-free centre of the village hosts various restaurants, boutiques, hotels and bars. The culinary offerings in Gstaad leave nothing to be desired: more than 100 restaurants prepare delicacies, from hearty to delicious, from creative to regional or international. Cheese lovers will be particularly pleased as they can enjoy a fondue surrounded by alpine nature. With a day’s notice, they can rent a fondue backpack from the various dairies.
