Lauterbrunnen

Lauterbrunnen

“Valley of the waterfalls” is a perfect name to describe Lauterbrunnen; after all, there are 72 waterfalls in the area.

At the Trümmelbach Falls visitors get a hands-on experience of this spectacle of nature: they are brought by lift into the mountain’s interior where they can observe 10 waterfalls carrying the meltwater of the glaciers. Freeride fans should head to the Grütsch Trail, which offers ten to twenty minutes uninterrupted mountain biking for experienced bikers. Treasure hunts, museums, full moon baths and a 16-km-long cross-country skiing trail complement the varied programme.

Visitors gaze in fascination as the Staubbach Falls cascade into the valley. The waterfall takes its name from the dust-like droplets of water that spray in all directions.
