COVID-19: regulations and entry requirements

The Bernese destinations have taken the necessary precautions to protect their guests and employees. These measures are under constant review to ensure you can enjoy a safe stay. Here you will find rules and regulations as well as entry requirements concerning COVID-19.

Entry requirements for Switzerland

Tourism takes place in Switzerland largely without restrictions and foreign tourists are welcome to enter Switzerland. 

  • Entry from Schengen/EU/EFTA: possible without restrictions.
  • Entry from third countries (not SEM risk list): possible without restriction.
  • Entry from third countries (SEM risk list): possible for vaccinated persons with EMA/WHO accepted vaccines (< 270 days) as well as recovered persons against proof.

Rules and regulations within Switzerland

Throughout Switzerland, the following rules and regulations are in effect:

  • Masks: In Switzerland, masks are not compulsory.
  • COVID certificate: In Switzerland there is no COVID certificate, you can move freely without conditions.
