The wine festivals in the Bern Region celebrate the grape harvest, called the Läset, with colorful parades, wine tastings, open cellars, market stalls, concerts and authentic Swiss vineyard culture.

Wine Festival in La Neuveville

12 – 14 September 2025

The Wine Festival in La Neuveville on Lake Biel delights visitors with regional wines, more than 30 culinary specialties and a unique atmosphere. Concerts, a colorful fair with carousels, festive parades, and a special children’s day with games and a raffle make the event an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

The Spiezer Läset Fest on Lake Thun is a true insider’s tip. It begins on Saturday with the popular Spiez Wine Walk (early booking recommended) and continues with bars and live music. The highlight is the traditional parade on Sunday, featuring decorated wagons, traditional costumes, dogs and performances by local clubs. A stroll through the vineyards and a tasting of Spiez wines at the festival venues are highly recommended.

Wine Festival (Läset-Sunntige) in Erlach

The Läset-Sunntige in Erlach, one of Switzerland’s traditional wine festivals, celebrates the grape harvest and marks the highlight of the winegrowing year. On Sunday, 28 September and Sunday, 5 October 2025, a colorful parade passes through the old town near the vineyards. Open wine cellars, local taverns and food stalls, concerts, a bouncy castle and a carousel make the weekend on Lake Biel unforgettable. On the Saturdays before, the culinary walk “Wy und Ässe z’Erlach” invites you to enjoy wine tastings and regional delicacies at various stations.

Vineyard tavern (Räbebeizli) in Twann

The vineyard path above the church in Twann transforms into a cozy vineyard tavern (Räbebeizli) in late September and October, offering a unique view of Lake Biel. With a glass of sparkling Twann wine and local specialties, you can enjoy wine right where it grows. Note: Only held in good weather.

Wine Festival in Ligerz (Ligerzer Läset-Sunntige)

The Ligerz Läset-Sunntige are among the best-known wine festivals in Switzerland. In eleven village wine cellars, local winemakers present more than a hundred wines for tasting. Visitors can also enjoy traditional festivities, live music, and regional specialties – a village festival full of flavor and culture. Note: Please travel by public transport, as no parking is available.

The “Joie de vivre” Wine Festival on St. Peter’s Island offers wine, culinary delights, and music at a unique location in the middle of Lake Biel – and, true to its name, it is all about the joy of life. On Friday, enjoy Wine & Dine; on Saturday, wine tastings under the arcades and live music with Nils Burri await. The journey by “Navette” taxi boat from Erlach makes the island visit a special experience.

The Trüelete Twann is the largest wine festival on Lake Biel and one of the most renowned in Switzerland.
