Schilthorn – Piz Gloria

Until 1967, the Schilthorn was treated as an insider tip among alpinists and mountaineers. Thanks to the Schilthorn cable car it is now also accessible to the broader public.

The 360° restaurant Piz Gloria is located at the top of the Schilthorn. It revolves around its own axis in 45 minutes and offers a view of over 200 mountain peaks. The hiking trails in the surrounding area are also excellent: you can enjoy the view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau triumvirate or explore the region's diverse flora on the Flower Trail on the Allmendhubel. Unforgettable moments also await visitors during the activities: The Schilthorn brunch in the revolving restaurant or a walk along the Thrill Walk at Birg station leave little to be desired. Sports enthusiasts can set new records in summer at the Inferno Triathlon. In the cold season, winter sports enthusiasts conquer the highest ski area in the Bernese Oberland.

Celebrations of a successful mission

Ever since the making of the Bond classic “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” in 1968, the Schilthorn has become a magnet for fans of the royal secret agent. The interactive Spy World exhibition welcomes visitors and gives them the chance to act out key scenes of the movie. The Walk of Fame in honour of all the cast and film crew invites visitors for a stroll. To round off the experience, you should head to the Piz Gloria View and its photo point, which allows you to take your picture against the backdrop of the three legendary Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks.
