Stockhorn

Stockhorn

The Stockhorn invites you to climb, hike or be amazed. Every hour, up to 330 persons arrive at 2,190 m on the mountain via the Stockhorn cableway.

Once you have arrived on top, the viewing platform is the ideal starting point. Like a box at the theatre, it offers you magnificent views across Lake Thun and the Jura foothills. If you are not scared of heights, you should take in the near-vertical views 400 m down through the glass floor. If you prefer an even bigger adrenaline rush, try bungee jumping from a cable car or exploring the Stockhorn on one of the many climbing routes for professionals that stretch out over 13 km.

A village that gives you the chills

A visit to the igloo village is a must for winter enthusiasts. At Lake Hinterstocken, there are numerous events in a unique atmosphere: from ice fishing to snow tubing and ice skating, visitors are spoilt for choice. After the fun, the igloo bar offers a hearty cheese fondue and warming mulled wine. For those who would like to recreate the setting at home, there are igloo building workshops which will teach you how to turn fine snow crystals into robust snow homes.
