Three of Switzerland’s 20 parks of national importance are in the Bern Region and impress with alpine valleys, the Gantrisch range and Jura heights, just 25 to 45 minutes by car from Bern.

Diemtigtal Nature Park is a place where relaxation and discovery go hand in hand. Between quiet mountain scenery, clear streams and flowering alpine meadows, nature reveals itself at its finest. Gantrisch Nature Park

Gantrisch Nature Park lies in the city triangle of Bern, Thun and Fribourg, and covers around 400 square kilometres of near-natural landscapes. Sweeping views, diverse wildlife and quiet trails invite visitors to explore and unwind. Those who enjoy being active will find plenty of variety in the rope park or on the Gurnigel via ferrata. The region also has much to offer culturally: Belp Old Castle, the Way of St. James and the church in Amsoldingen provide fascinating insights into its history. Chasseral Nature Park reveals nature in all its diversity: wooded pastures, moorland, steep cliffs and sweeping views.
