25 September – 25 October 2026
Thuner Wasserzauber is a spectacular free music, light and water show in the heart of Thun. In the Aare basin in front of Restaurant Freienhof, water fountains, music, lights and lasers come together in impressively choreographed water shows. The fountains shoot up to 30 metres high and are accompanied by music from classical to electro. Two different shows take place daily in all weather conditions. Admission is free.
Food and drink stands around the event area invite visitors to linger. Those wishing to round off the evening with a culinary experience can reserve a fine menu with access to exclusive terraces and the best view of the water show. The event is accessible and uses Aare water sustainably in a closed cycle.
From Monday to Tuesday, "EDM, Electronic Dance Music" starts at 7.30 pm, followed by "Blüemlere" at 9.15 pm.
From Wednesday to Sunday, the order is reversed: "Blüemlere" is shown at 7.30 pm, followed by "EDM, Electronic Dance Music" at 9.15 pm.
"EDM, Electronic Dance Music"
This show brings Thun’s legendary Selve era back to life, when the city was a hotspot for electronic music. Inspired by clubs such as Nachtwerk and Basis, it takes visitors on a journey through different styles and eras, with driving beats from Jean-Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk to Avicii.
"Blüemlere"
With Captain Adrian Gfeller, visitors set off on a musical steamboat cruise across Lake Thun. Local dialect sounds meet international hits and tell the story of the legendary steamboat "Blüemlere", atmospheric, surprising and inspired by the beauty of the Bern Region.
