The Swiss Open Gstaad is the only clay court tournament in Switzerland, enthralling its spectators and competitors alike for more than 100 years. The tennis matches are played in the Roy Emerson Arena, named after the five-time record winner from Australia, which seats up to 4,500 spectators. The arena is easily accessible from Gstaad station and, surrounded by charming chalets, gentle hills and lush meadows, it is worth more than just a glance. Every year, the tennis tournament attracts famous players, among them were Stefan Edberg, Boris Becker, Yannick Noah, Jim Courier, Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka.
