Whether you are travelling on your own, as a family or a group, or you are looking for a romantic getaway for two: Frutigen has something to offer for everyone with its charming village center and traditional chalets. A bike tour to the Blausee invites visitors to explore and enjoy the stunning scenery. A special highlight is the 153-meter-long Hostalde suspension bridge – one of the longest in Europe. Another masterpiece of engineering is the guided tour through the Lötschberg Base Tunnel, the third-largest railway tunnel in Europe. Other highlights include the historic Tellenburg Castle, the wild Choleren gorge, the only climbing tower in the Bernese Oberland, and the versatile Frutigen Sports Center.
Elsigen-Metsch, also known as Elsigenalp, is located above Frutigen and is part of the Adelboden-Lenk ski and bike region – one of the highlights in the area. In summer, the green landscape with its hiking trails and the two scenic mountain lakes Brandsee and Elsigsee attracts visitors. Once winter arrives, a blanket of snow covers the landscape, marking the start of the ski season. The toboggan run, which stretches over 3.5 km (2.17 miles), is as popular as the “Weisse Perle” ski route – a slope that promises a fun and relaxing descent. Two snow parks offer children a place to romp and play while the professionals perform their stunts on the snowboard.
