Fondue in the great outdoors: Pick up your fondue backpack from the Amstutz cheese dairy in Sigriswil and find your favourite spot in nature, with views of Lake Thun or surrounded by a winter landscape. The backpack contains everything you need: fondue pot, burner with wind guard, lighter, stirring spoon, forks, bread and cheese. Fondue tastes even better outdoors. Available all year round.
Raclette in a raft on Lake Brienz: In Bönigen, climb aboard a raft and enjoy the evening atmosphere with views of the surrounding mountains. While your guide paddles along the shore, savour raclette in a cosy setting. Available from mid-September to April, depending on weather and water levels.
Raclette in the St. Beatus Caves: Deep inside the rock, enjoy unlimited raclette in an atmospherically lit grotto. Tea, coffee, mineral water and wine are included. As a souvenir, you can take home a small candle raclette set. Every Friday from 27 November 2026 to 19 March 2027.
Fondue in a historic Emmental granary: At Bären Dürrenroth, enjoy fine cheese fondue or tender fondue chinoise, a Swiss-style meat fondue, in a traditional granary once used to store grain, provisions and valuables. Today, these cosy granaries form the Granary Fondue Village and accommodate two to four people for a particularly atmospheric winter evening. Open from 1 November 2026 until the end of February 2027.
Fondue under the full moon: High above Bern on the Gurten, the city’s local mountain, enjoy fondue with views over the city. Wrapped up warmly on the terrace of Restaurant Gurtners, you are also served roasted chestnuts, a warming soup and a sweet dessert selection. Dress warmly and enjoy the special full-moon atmosphere.
Fondue in an original Mongolian yurt in the heart of Bern: Whether classic or with sun-dried tomatoes, enjoy a cosy winter evening in a unique setting with family or friends. Open from 20 October 2026 until the end of February 2027.
Fondue on a rickshaw ride through Bern: Wrapped up warmly in blankets, enjoy fondue, wine and some of the city’s most beautiful sights. This special experience on three wheels combines sightseeing and indulgence in a particularly cosy way.
Night sledging under the stars, starting with fondue: On Friday and Saturday evenings, enjoy fondue at Berghaus Niederhorn before heading out for as many toboggan runs as you like. Round off the evening with mulled wine or punch at Bergrestaurant Vorsass. Fondue, drink, toboggan hire and lift tickets are included. Bus connections are available from Thun and Interlaken West. A headlamp is recommended.
