The Ballenberg all-round experiences offer an unforgettable day in this unique open-air museum. Explore the Ballenberg site with a themed guided tour, take a peek into the kitchens and parlours of the historic buildings, immerse yourself in the living and working environments of rural Switzerland and experience first-hand what everyday family life was like.
The tour includes a short break during which regional products and home-made Ballenberg specialities are available for sampling. A delicious lunch is also provided in the Ballenberg restaurants at the end of the tour.
Fortified and inspired, you then participate in an afternoon workshop that fits with your chosen tour theme. This is an opportunity to become actively involved by trying your hand at a historic craft. There is lots to choose from, including sgraffito scratching, cheese making, cake baking and coffee roasting in a historic kitchen, through to wood carving, straw weaving and concocting a herbal tincture with the Ballenberg apothecaries.
