Team adventures in the Bernese snow

Perhaps not everyone in your team is over the moon about skiing or snowboarding. Or keen to ride a sled at speed down into the valley. That’s quite understandable, but it’s no reason for you to dispense with a team event. Offer the increasingly popular option of winter biking, i.e. cycling in the snow, and everyone will want to take part! In the Gstaad holiday region, and in Sparenmoos above Zweisimmen in particular, winter bikers have access to exciting routes along wonderfully sited hiking trails. Cycling along these prepared trails is officially permitted and can be done without professional equipment or the need to be in peak physical condition. Making it the ideal team event for an active get-together!

If you like ice not only in your drink, your team will love you for this outing: Equipped with tools and gloves, you'll shape your team igloo under guidance. Meeting point and starting time are freely selectable, so different locations in the Bernese Oberland are possible for the igloo. After the work is done, the whole team is offered a cheese fondue inside the self-made shelter. And if the teambuilding event may last a little longer; you and your team can even spend the night in the Igloo Village Gstaad at the Saanersloch mountain station! This is accompanied by a cheese fondue, a guided night snowshoe tour and a fine breakfast in the mountain restaurant.

Gstaad is one of Switzerland's most popular cross-country skiing areas. As an alternative to the office routine, or to round off a training course, this kind of team activity is especially useful: participants are instructed and given encouragement in a fun training session on the "cross-piste", before venturing on to the track, skiing in a classic or skating style. With its beautiful views, the area between the Sparenmoos above Zweisimmen and Glacier 3000 is particularly suitable for "winding down".

Creativity and a hands-on approach are two skills much in demand within a team – and all the more so with this event. In the Jungfrau Region that boasts amazing panoramic views of the Eiger you and your team will get to build your very own sled and then test it there and then, in the snow. Whether it’s old car tyres, wooden shutters, padding, or cardboard, with a little creative flair and a dash of pioneering spirit your team members will get to cobble together some fun and ingenious sleds and snowmobiles. The possibilities are limitless, so you can nail, carve and glue away to your heart’s content. Of course, no creative process would be complete without some flag or pennant-based decoration or even a company logo. A creative opportunity to promote team spirit and put those "doer" qualities to the test.

The Eiger North Face, with its 2,000 meters in height and its extraordinarily steep, rugged character, is as unique as hardly any other mountain. The fact that the face is now accessible to people without mountaineering experience offers unprecedented team moments. In an extremely exclusive way, you and your team can experience the distinctive features of the Eiger North Face up close. You’ll travel by train directly into the tunnel opening and, securely harnessed, step out of the tunnel window. Filled with adrenaline, but always carefully guided by experienced mountain guides, you will, as a team, feel what it means to stand together and subordinate yourselves to one another. After this adventure, you’ll surely take home not only the breathtaking view of the valley but also a stronger team bond. This high-alpine experience will definitely bring your team closer together!

Planning, building and having fun together: with these purposes in mind, the winter adventure "Build an igloo from snow and ice" is the perfect team-building event. Under the guidance of a leader at one of the three possible locations in Gadmen, Innertkirchen or Steingletscher, it soon becomes clear who is most suited to doing what: site manager, block-cutter, structural engineer – all kinds of skills are needed for this fun outdoor experience! Then, over drinks at the end of the day, or when you spend the night in the igloo or the nearby mountain inn, the focus shifts to relaxation and enjoyment.

Enjoy having Lake Brienz to yourself, with the snow-capped peaks reflected in the water. Between November and April, this unique winter kayaking experience is best undertaken in a warm dry-suit and with a flask of hot tea. After a short introduction, the tour begins at the Bönigen lido and takes you past secluded beaches and craggy rocks and then back to where you started. Accompanied by an experienced guide, and with very few other people out on the lake, this is bound to be an adventure that you won't forget.

4 routes, 14 kilometres, 1 aim: to have fun together! Whether you're a big group or a small one, and whatever the level of ability, that's just what you'll do at the Adelboden sledging park on the Tschentenalp. First, choose whether you want to hire a classic wooden sledge, a traditional "skibock" (cross between a ski and a sledge), a modern airboard or a stylish "snooc" (sledge/touring ski hybrid), and you can swap as often as you like. Then off you go together to the sledging runs, up and down as often as you like, and on some days even until late in the night...
