Oberaargau

Situated at the most north-eastern part of the Canton of Bern is the Oberaargau. The landscape with its impressive variety inspires visitors to go on excursions.

Visitors are soon captivated by the region: historical buildings and mysterious places are embedded into nature. The latter takes upmost priority in the Oberaargau. Lost landscape areas are newly created in the emerald area to enhance the biodiversity. Once this area has been explored, many other nature destinations, such as the Mutzbach Falls and Lake Burgäschi, are waiting for a visit.

The hiking season never ends

In spring, be there when nature awakes; in summer, enjoy the lush pastures; in autumn, take in the dazzling colour display of the trees; in winter, leave footprints in the snow: hiking in the Oberaargau is fun in every season. Educational trails provide visitors with information. Observation towers, such as the Hohwacht, are a highlight during hikes and allow perfect panoramic views of the region’s natural treasures.
