The crowning distance E101 with 101 kilometres and more than 6700 metres elevation gain takes in locations such as Grosse Scheidegg, Faulhorn 2680 m, Schynige Platte, Wengen, Männlichen, Kleine Scheidegg, the base of the Eiger North Face and the UNESCO World Heritage site Jungfrau-Aletsch. The route demands peak performances from the athletes and rewards them with an incomparable mountain experience. The current record time for the E101 stands at 10:44h. In total six distances are available. The E250 team race, which covers 250 kilometres and 18,000 metres elevation gain, encircles the UNESCO Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch territory and is considered at very special mountain adventure. With 51 and 35 kilometres, the two middle distances are both spectacular mountain feats. The 16-kilometre pleasure trail and the annual “Trail Surprise” allow for a more casual approach. The whole event starts on Friday evening, with the legendary Kids Race.
Since the launch of the Eiger Ultra Trail, Grindelwald has developed into a popular trail running destination, with all-year-round marked trails, training camps, maps and special accommodation offers, making it the ideal training location for the event.
