The number of participants at the Bern Grand Prix has been increasing steadily. No surprise, as the event is unparalleled, despite the fact that it is impossible to predict who will be in the lead.

Labelled by many as the world’s most beautiful ten miles, the Bern Grand Prix can undoubtedly impress with its unique backdrop. Not only the runners give it everything on their way to the finishing line, but also Bern presents itself in the best possible and most exciting light. When passing the country’s capital, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Bear Pit, Zytglogge clock tower, river Aare and other landmarks, the race almost fades into the background. But only almost!

Different Grands Prix for young and old

Runners are supported and motivated by their cheering families, fans and friends all around the track. In the background, bands entertain runners and spectators alike and create a suitable atmosphere for the sporting event. After a deceptively easy start, the first difficult test is around the corner. At the beginning, the course leads the runners downhill to the Old Town, where the first ascent is waiting. The race for the professional runners is, however, not the only challenge on offer. The Old Town and Bear Grand Prix are the perfect running events for less experienced runners as well as children and young people. The Golden Runners are in particular worth mentioning. They have participated at the Grand Prix 30 times in a row and have thus earned their name as Golden Runners in the history of the Grand Prix.
