Swiss Women’s Run Bern

On your marks, set, go: every year, the starting gun for the Swiss Women's Run is fired in summer. Attracting 16,000 entrants, the run is the largest women's sports event in Switzerland. This is girl power at its finest.

Colourful balloons and an enthusiastic crowd of spectators that line the route: these are the hallmarks of the Swiss women's run in Bern. The main race is 5 kilometres in length and leads from the Bundesgasse to the Monbijou Bridge, through the Kirchenfeld district and ends with a final sprint onto the Bundesplatz. But the approximately 16,000 runners are free to choose between different routes. The longest stretches across 15 kilometres and can be completed by running or Nordic walking. There are no age restrictions.

Taking part is what really counts

For the youngest runners there is the Girls Sprint (500 metres) and the Girls Mile (over 1.6 kilometres). Entrants who enjoy running as part of a group, can also start as a team. And for all those who don't want their finishing result to appear on the rankings list, there is the "Run for Fun" category.
