Grindelwald’s picture-perfect mountain backdrop is renowned worldwide. Ever since 2004 when it served as backdrop for “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith”. Grindelwald captivates its visitors with a wide range of activities. The ski area Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen is a paradise for every skier and also the starting point for the FIS Ski World Cup Lauberhorn Wengen.

Set among the ice giants, the Eiger village of Grindelwald radiates a special charm. It is the perfect starting point for excursions to the Jungfraujoch, Pfingstegg and the First. The canyon of the lower Grindelwald glacier offers perfect entertainment with its six theme worlds and the Spiderweb, a net construction for visitors to balance on. In the evenings, the village attracts visitors with its gastronomic range and inviting clubs and bars which make the day last longer.

A little courage goes a long way in Grindelwald

Rigorous training pays off with these challenges: the Eiger Ultra Trail holds eight stages – for example Kleine Scheidegg or First – and presents its participants with a particular challenge over a distance of 101 km and a height difference of 6700 m. Participants of the Jungfrau Marathon or the Eiger Bike Challenge will also work up a sweat. Their hearts will beat faster not only because of the sporting challenge, but also because of the breathtaking landscape with dense forests, lush meadows and deep gorges which they will have to pass.
